About Me

An engagement journalist and editor by trade and a lifelong story-weaver and creator, Kaylee spent four-and-a-half years working for 6AM City, one of the fastest-growing digital media companies in the U.S.

Starting off as an Editor in 2018, she created all of the content for LALtoday's platforms by pitching, producing, writing, and editing stories for her audience of 23,000+ in Lakeland, FL.

During this time, she also helped lead a political coverage plan at 6AM City, which led her team members to inform a collective audience of 200,000+ about the 2020 primary election.

In 2021, Kaylee was promoted to Senior Editor, where she managed six newsletter markets and additional editorial operations (assisted management with workflow, production, and budgets), launched a successful feedback process aimed toward the editorial team, resulting in open rates of over 30%, and assisted in the launch of 17 new markets with recruitment and coaching, bringing on over 50+ new editors.

Later in 2021, Kaylee was promoted once again to Managing Editor, where she managed a team of 17 editors for a daily newsletter platform, across seven cities in the US, lead editorial team members in the creation of six monthly content calendars and the creation, resulting in 150+ pieces of lead content per month, and produced and led a new revenue stream for the company by helping to create an ultimate guide.

During her time with the company, Kaylee also worked with other 6AM City affiliates to create multi-market content, as well as, with advertising partners, where she wrote branded content

Prior to joining 6AM City, Kaylee was the Communications Specialist and Graphic designer for the Women's Resource Center (the oldest domestic violence center in the Commonwealth of Virginia), where she shared the stories of survivors and rebranded the creative cornerstone of the nonprofit (which included a 40-year-old logo and 20-year-old website)

Kaylee has also created content for the podcast, Florida Men on Florida Man (which has been nationally named as one of the top podcasts of 2020) and has worked with the Red Tent Initiative — where she increased the nonprofit's social media footprint by growing its audience tenfold.

Kaylee attended Southeastern University, where she received her Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations & Journalism. She is a 2022 graduate of Leadership Lakeland and a member of both the Lakeland Economic Development Council and the Lakeland Chamber of Commerce

In 2018, Kaylee wrote an article about overdoses in Florida, which led her to draft an Overdose Awareness Day proclamation for the City of Lakeland, which the city still commemorates today.

Podcasts Kaylee has appeared in include: The Florida Men on Florida Man, Catapult Lakeland, and the Jae Choe Show
